To sit down at a table, you must follow these simple steps:

  • Log in to ActionPoker
  • Select between Real Money Action and Demo Money Action
  • Select which game you wish to play (Texas Hold'em or Omaha ... etc.)
  • Select the type of game you wish to play (Limit, No-Limit or Tournament)
  • Find the table stakes you wish to play at ($1/$2 or $25 N/L... etc.)
  • Click the Join table button and the table will open
  • If there is an empty seat (labeled "Sit Down"), click on it to sit down.

You can play for play money anytime you wish. Your account is automatically credited $1,000 in play money the first time you sign in. Simply click on the DEMO MONEY ACTION button on the left of the lobby screen and then select the game and table type from the lists that appear.

If you have less than $100 in play money, you can simply log out of your account and log back in, and your balance will reset to $1,000.

If you are having difficulty with the instructions on how to play the game while sitting at the table, click on the '?' button on the bottom left of the table and you will be directed to the page that details how to play that game.

You can bring more money to the table by clicking on the '$' button on the table and then typing in how much money you wish to bring to the table. This feature works the same way for both Play Money and Real Money games, whenever the rules of the game allow money refills.

If you decide to leave the table at any time, your money will automatically be returned to your account. However, if you are in the middle of a hand, you will forfeit whatever money you have on the table.

No, ActionPoker does not charge players directly to sit at real money tables. ActionPoker makes its money by charging a small percentage of rake for every hand played. This rake is a very small amount and always has a cap. The standard rake charged is 5% with a general cap of $3. Please note that a rake is not charged on tournament hands.

When full, every table has the ability to manage a waiting list. If a table has the maximum number of players sitting at it, simply click on the "Join Waiting List" button, and you will be entered into a queue for that table. When your turn arrives, you will be prompted with a message in the queue informing you that your seat is available. You will then have 60 seconds to sit down in that seat. If you take longer than 60 seconds to sit down, your seat will either be given to the next person in the queue or the next person waiting to sit down in that seat.

Yes, you can play at a maximum of 4 tables at once!

Any social activity is more enjoyable when sharing it with friends. For that reason, ActionPoker has developed a Buddy List. If you enjoy playing or communicating with certain players, you can make them a regular part of your play.

To access the Buddy List, click on the Lobby menu and then select "Buddy List".

From there, you can add and remove buddies, or join a buddy's table.

The chat is for entertainment purposes only, as we want to generate a friendly and fun environment for all of our members. Actual chat is displayed in light blue, hand information will be displayed in yellow and in white you will find general information.

You can check your hand statistics while playing by clicking on the "View Statistics" button at the top of the table. Clicking this will open a small window that displays the following statistics:

  • Flop percentage from the small blind, big blind, on the button and other positions
  • Number of pots won
  • The statistics of how often you folded

The slider will increase and decrease in increments, depending on the amount of money you have. However, an easy approach would be to use the number pad on your keyboard and type in the amount you want to bet in the text field right above the slider.

Keep in mind that your location, Internet traffic, background downloading, as well as other variables can contribute to a slow connection. Try to keep these at a minimum so that your play will be as smooth as possible.

You can check under the "Options" menu, where it says "Animation Refresh Rate". If your refresh rate has selected Medium as default, select a higher rate and this will speed up the movement of the cards.

Freeze-outs are very rare, but they still occur. If your computer freezes while you are playing a tournament, please allow 5 minutes before the system gathers all the information needed to recover the connection with all players. If after 5 minutes your computer is still frozen, feel free to contact our 24/7 Live Support.

If you get disconnected from the Internet while playing a game, there are two possible outcomes. The first one is, if you are not involved in the hand that is currently being played or if you have not made a bet yet and you get disconnected, you will simply have your cards folded and you will then be placed as sitting out. The second outcome is, if you are involved in the hand and you have already made a bet and get disconnected, your status will change as "All in". However, this does not mean that you will be betting all of your money; it simply means you will only be eligible for the money available in the pot up until the moment in which you lost connection. A separate pot will be created for you, and you will be able to win this money, even if you are no longer connected. Regardless of whether or not you win the hand, if you are not able to reconnect to ActionPoker before the game is over, you will be placed as sitting out.

All-Ins are "free passes" that give you a special privilege in case you get disconnected. You are only issued 2 All-ins during your game time. If you wish to receive more All-Ins, please click on the "Options" menu and then click on the "Reset All-Ins". This will send a message to Customer Support and they will reset your All-Ins.

In order for ActionPoker to look its best, you will need to have your screen resolution set to 1024x768 or higher, with at least 16-bit colors selected. If you wish to adjust your monitor:

  • Right-click on your desktop with your mouse and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
  • Select "Settings" from the top tabs.
  • From there, you will be able to set and adjust both the screen resolution and the number of colors to be displayed on your monitor.

However, please note that if you are using an emulator, we do not provide support/technical help or guarantee that the software will work correctly in your computer.

When you start the program, it immediately checks for an upgrade. If there is new version available, or if you are running the program for the first time, an upgrade is required. Action.exe is the program that performs the upgrade. After the upgrade, the program that connects you to our servers is Act.exe. This error may be caused by the software when it is it is interrupted before it completes its automatic upgrading task. Whenever the software begins its upgrading process, please allow it to finish upgrading.

Another explanation for this type of error might be the use of firewalls or virus protection programs, which most likely hay stop any upgrading process for our program. In this case, we recommend that you disable these security programs or allow act.exe TCP/IP access on port 8085, and action.exe HTTP access on port 80.

Collusion is what happens when a player controls more than one player at a table, or when two (or more) players are discussing their hands and know what each other has. To report colluding, please send an email to support@actionpoker.com with the colluding user names.

ActionPoker does not take chip dumping lightly. Anyone that suspects that players are dumping chips or witnesses this behavior should contact support immediately. Chip dumping is what happens when a player (usually with a large bankroll) decides to "help" another player by deliberately losing a hand. If you suspect or witness this, please send an email to support@actionpoker.com with the corresponding user name(s) and hand number(s).
